There is hereby created the office of Auditor who shall head the Department of Finance. The Auditor shall be elected from the Municipality at large at the November 1965 municipal election for a two year term, and shall be elected from the Municipality at large at the November 1967 municipal election and every fourth year thereafter for a four year term.
The Auditor elected from the Municipality at large for the term commencing on January 2, 1996 shall assume office on the date following his election and shall hold office until March 31, 2000. Subsequently, the Auditor shall assume office on April 1, next following his election and shall hold office until his successor is elected and qualified. The salary of the Auditor for the two (2) year term of office beginning January 2, 1966, shall be that amount as shall have been fixed by Council in accordance with Section 731.13 of the Revised Code of Ohio, for the position of Auditor, or, if the salary has not been established for such position, for Village Clerk.
