913.03 NOTICE.
   If noxious weeds or weeds of rank growth growing to a height of eight inches or more are growing on lots and lands referred to in Section 913.02, the Director of Public Service shall serve upon the owner, lessee, agent or tenant having charge of such lots and lands written notice that the weeds must be cut within the time stated in the notice, otherwise the City will have the weeds cut and the cost of cutting, plus an administrative fee, will be added to the real property tax duplicate. If the owner or other person is a nonresident whose address is known, the notice shall be sent to the owner’s address by certified mail, and it shall provide that the weeds must be cut or destroyed within seven days after the notice is served. If the address of the owner or other person, whether a resident or a nonresident, is unknown, then the notice must be posted on the lots and lands, and it shall provide that the weeds must be cut or destroyed within forty-eight hours after such notice is posted. After completion of notice, the Director shall make due return thereon, setting forth the cost of service. (Ord. 71-2014. Passed 9-15-14.)
