(A) This chapter is adopted under the authority of the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, specifically Tex. Loc. Gov’t. Code, Ch. 212 regarding Municipal Regulation of Subdivisions and Property Development, as amended. The regulations contained herein shall govern every subdivision of land as defined within the corporate limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city.
(B) The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the orderly, safe and healthful development of the areas within the city and its extraterritorial jurisdiction. Specifically, this chapter is intended to coordinate the orderly subdivision of property along with other city ordinances relating to flood prevention and protections, zoning, site development review, access and off-street parking, building codes and other development related codes.
