The Township Manager, Township Engineer or Township Building Inspector shall give a written notice to the property owner of any property upon which a sinkhole, which is a public nuisance, is located and direct that the same be filled or otherwise closed. Immediately upon receipt of such notice, the property owner shall erect such barriers, fences, signs or other means as reasonable to protect the public from the dangers of the sinkhole. The owner of the property on which the sinkhole is located shall be given such time to fill the sinkhole as the Township Manager, Township Engineer or Township Building Inspector may deem reasonable in light of the circumstances, given consideration to the danger caused by the existing sinkhole, but in any event not more than ten (10) days.
