Section 6.03 Conflicts of Interest.
   (a)   Declaration of Intent. The purpose of this section is to prevent elected officials, officers, and employees from securing any financial benefits from their public positions other than their compensation provided by law or by this charter.
   (b)   All officials, officers and employees shall abide by all applicable provisions of the Pennsylvania Public Official and Employee Ethics Act, as it may be amended. 1
   (c)   Specific Prohibition. No elected official, officer, or employee in his/her official capacity shall participate in the consideration or approval of any Township business in which he/she has a direct or indirect financial interest.
   (d)   Disclosure. Any elected official, officer, or employee, who is aware that he/she has ownership or any interest in any person, firm, or corporation dealing or doing business with the Township, shall disclose such interest by sending a letter setting forth such facts to the Township clerk who shall distribute copies of the letter to the members of the Township council.
   (e)   Action. The Township council shall determine whether a conflict exists. If a conflict exists as to a member of the Township council, that member shall not participate in debate or vote on the matter. The Township council and the Township manager jointly and severally, shall have the power to void any contract made in violation of this subsection.
