1. Each vault key shall be numbered.
2. All vault keys shall be kept only:
A. In Fire Department vehicles in a locked mechanism which can be opened only by signal of the Emergency Dispatch Office of Lehigh County.
B. In a locked safe in the Township Building to be released by the Township Manager or Town Clerk to:
(1) The Chief of the Fire Department.
(2) The Township Maintenance Supervisor. [Ord. 530]
3. The Township shall maintain a log book in which shall be recorded: (a) the date and time any vault key is removed; (b) the name and signature of the person to whom the key was given; (c) the purpose for the removal, including the locations of any cabinet style vaults and rapid entry systems opened by the vault key; (d) the date and time the vault key is returned; and (e) the name and signature of the person to whom the key was returned.
4. The Fire Department shall provide the Township Manager with a schedule of the location of each vault key in the possession of the fire department. The Fire Department shall maintain a record of the date and time of any request to the Emergency Dispatch Office of Lehigh County for the release of vault keys and the location of any cabinet style vault or rapid entry system opened with such key.
5. At least annually the fire department and Township Manager shall conduct an inventory confirming the location of all vault keys.
