1. There shall be a fire lane extending eighteen (18) feet in either direction from the center of the primary public entrance to a shopping mall, commercial industry, warehouse or office building, or place of public accommodation. Such fire lane shall extend along the curb, edge of any driveway, entrance way, parking area or other surface for the movement of parking the vehicles.
2. Any building less than two (2) stories constructed after April 1, 1992, other than a residential building of three (3) units or less, shall have a paved fire lane along the entire length of one (1) side of the building, but such fire lane shall begin no closer than five (5) feet and no further than fifteen (15) feet from the building.
3. Any building of two (2) stories or more constructed after April 1, 1992, other than a residential building of three (3) units or less, shall have a paved fire lane along the entire length of two (2) adjoining sides of the building, but such fire lane shall begin no closer than five (5) feet and no further than fifteen (15) feet from the building.
4. Any building to which the requirements of subsection (2) or (3) would be applicable if not built before April 1, 1992, shall nonetheless be subject to subsections (2) or (3) to the extent that such building has been constructed and parking area on the premises established in a manner which would permit compliance with subsections (2) or (3) without requiring the elimination of such established parking areas. Established parking areas shall be determined by site plans filed with the Township for previous land development, subdivision or zoning approvals, where such plans have been filed.

5. A fire lane shall be maintained on all premises from a public road,
A. To any fire lane adjacent to any building; and,
B. To any fire hydrant on the premises; and,
C. To any siamese, standpipe or other fire suppression system connection for any buildings.

6. All fire lanes shall be at least eighteen (18) feet in width. The combined width of the fire lane and driving lane shall be thirty (30) feet minimum and shall have a minimum forty-two (42) foot turning radius at all major access points to the fire lane and shall be accessible to a vehicle with a forty-two (42) foot turning radius for its entire length. For any building that includes an Early Suppression Fast Response sprinkler system as defined in the National Fire Protection Association Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems (2019 Edition and as amended) or similar automatic fire extinguishing system, the combined width of the fire lane and driving lane may, subject to the approval of the fire chief or their designee, be decreased to twenty-four (24) feet minimum with a truck turning radius satisfactory to the fire chief or their designee.
