§ 4-205.   Additions, Insertions and Changes - International Fire Code.
The following sections are hereby revised from or added to the UCC, International Fire Code, 2009 edition, as follows: [Ord. 500]
   A.   307.6 Fire Company Training. Open fires may be set without permit by or at the direction of an officer of a fire company for the purpose of firefighting training for fire companies. [Ord. 500]
      507.5.1(a) Whenever a control water system is provided by the developer sufficient fire hydrants shall be installed so that no portion of a structure is more than 500 feet from a fire hydrant measured by way of accessible streets. [Ord. 500]
      (b) Any building or structure containing a Siamese connection for sprin klers or standpipes shall have a fire hydrant so installed that the distance between the Siamese connection and fire hydrant is no greater than 50 feet.
      507.5.4(a) All fire hydrants shall be unobstructed no less than 15 feet in all directions and no fence or other obstruction shall be erected between a fire hydrant and any building within 50 feet thereof. [Ord. 500]
      507.5.6(a) When a hydrant is within 8 feet of a driveway, entranceway, parking lot island, or placed in an area deemed vulnerable to damage by traffic, said hydrant shall be protected from vehicle damage. Deterrent measures shall not interfere with the efficient operation of the hydrant and shall not be placed within 24 inches as measured from the lug on top of the hydrant. [Ord. 500]
      507.5.7 The height of a fire hydrant shall be so measured so that the center of the streamer connection to the ground or curb level is no less than 18 inches. [Ord. 500]
