1. Any building less than two stories constructed after April 1, 1992, other than a residential building of three units or less, shall have a paved fire lane located along the entire length of one side of the building, but such fire lane shall begin no closer than 5 feet and no further than 15 feet from the buildings.

Any building of two stories or more constructed after April 1, 1992, other than a residential building of three units or less, shall have a paved fire lane located along the entire length of two sides of the building, but such fire lane shall begin no closer than 5 feet and no further than 15 feet from the building.
3. There shall be a fire lane extending 18 feet on both sides from the center of the primary public entrance to a shopping mall, commercial, industry, warehouse or lane shall being at the edge of the curb, driveway, edge of parking area or other surface for the movement of vehicles nearest the building.
4. Notwithstanding the foregoing, for any building in the PIO District, certified by the applicant to include an early suppression fast response sprinkler system as defined in the National Fire Protection Association Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems (2019 Edition and as amended) or similar automatic fire extinguishing system, the maximum distance for such fire lanes to begin shall be increased to 140 feet from the building provided that there exist at least one twenty-four (24) foot wide point of direct access to two different sides of the building at a location to be approved by the Township fire official.
5. A fire lane shall be maintained on all premises from a public road to any fire lane adjacent to any building on the premises.
6. Fire Lane Standards.
A. All fire lanes shall be at least 18 feet in width.
B. The width of the fire lane required by Subsection (4) shall be 30 feet minimum and shall have a minimum 42 foot turning radius at all major access points to the fire lane and shall be accessible to a vehicle with a 42 foot turning radius for its entire length.
C. Pavement marking designating fire lane restrictions shall be required on all fire lanes. All curb adjacent to any fire lane shall be marked in yellow to so indicate said fire lane restrictions.
D. Signs denoting a fire lane shall be placed a minimum of every 50 feet along the width of a fire lane. However, at least two such signs shall be placed at any designated fire lane.
