§ 1-730.   Leave of Absence Without Pay.
   1.   Circumstances. In certain circumstances the Township will approve leave of absence without pay. These circumstances might include pregnancy, special training, educational pursuits or a bona fide injury or illness when all accumulated sick leave has been used by the employee and there may be other valid reasons for allowing a leave of absence without pay. Request for this leave must be made to the Township Manager.
   2.   Requests. A written request to the Township Manager for a leave of absence without pay will be granted at the Township Manager's discretion. The Township Manager may request advice from the Personnel Board with respect to any requests for leave of absence. [Ord. 439]
   3.   Eligibility for Benefits. When the Township employee is on leave of absence without pay, he may be eligible for life insurance and hospitalization coverage up to a maximum of 90 days; however, the Township employee cannot earn sick leave, vacation or holiday pay.
