§ 1-729.   Funeral Leave.
When death occurs in the Township employee's family the Township allows salaried employees a number of days off. The Township employee is entitled to 3 days off with pay (including weekends) in the event of the death of his Mother, Father, Spouse, Child, Brother or Sister, and Immediate Family member, from the date of death, with prior approval from the Township Manager. For the purposes of this section, Immediate Family is described as Spouse, Parents, Children, Grandchildren, Mother/Father in-Law or any relative that resided with the employee. The Township employee is entitled to 1 day off with pay (including weekends) in the event of the death of a Mother-in-Law, Father-in-Law, Daughter-in-Law, Son-in-Law, Grandparent, Grandchild, Aunt, Uncle, Sister-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, other family members. For purposes of this section, other family members are described as Grandparent-in-Law, Aunt, Uncle, first cousin or an in-law from the date of death with prior approval of the Township Manager. This leave shall not count as sick leave time.
