§ 1-724.   Salary; Pay Rates.
   1.   Generally. Township employees will be paid every other Friday, 26 times a year. The rate of pay received will depend upon the type of work performed by the Township employee. The more responsible or skilled jobs are paid at a higher rate than the less responsible or less skilled jobs. Thus, the Township employee’s rate of pay will depend upon his job classification. When the Township employee receives his check, automatic deductions will have been made for Federal Income Tax, Social Security, and other State and Local Taxes as required by law. [Ord. 138]
   2.   Salary Increases. Salary increases for Township employees shall take effect January 1 of each year and shall be established as follows:
      A.   Township Manager shall assess the overall performance of Township operations during the current calendar year with respect to the state of fiscal affairs, level of service, increases in efficiency and professional development of the employees as a whole and recommend a "base increase" in the form of a percentage for all employees.
      B.   Township Manager shall review individual employee performance and determine eligibility for a "merit increase". This will involve input from Department Heads overseeing employees' daily work, compliance and performance. The Township Manager shall determine suggested merit increases based on employee performance in the form of a percentage.
      C.   The Township Manager shall bring his/her recommended increases to Council in December for both "base" and "merit" increases to Council for review, discussion and approval.
      D.   The Township Manager's recommended increases shall not exceed 5%.
