Operators of golf carts not equipped with turn signals shall give a continuous hand signal for a minimum of 200 feet of their intention to turn off of the street they are traveling on. Golf carts shall be identified as slow moving vehicles by state approved triangular slow moving vehicle signs mounted on the rear of the golf cart which is clearly visible at all times while being operated on the town streets.

(A) Golf carts shall not be operated on town sidewalks.
(B) Golf carts being operated in the town park shall yield the right-of-way to all pedestrians walking.
(C) The number of occupants in the golf cart shall be limited to the number of factory seats installed and provided on the golf cart.
(D) The operator and all occupants shall be seated in the golf cart and no part of the body of the operator or occupant shall extend outside of the golf cart while the golf cart is in motion.

Beginning January 1, 2015, all golf carts operated on the town streets shall be registered with the town and bear a registration sticker. The town shall collect a fee for said registration, which shall be set from time to time by the Town Council.

(A) The financial ability of the operator or owner notwithstanding, the operator of the golf cart must show financial responsibility when operating the golf cart on the streets in the town.
(B) Written proof of financial responsibility must be either on the golf cart or carried by the operator at all times.
(C) Liability insurance coverage on the golf cart shall be in the amount not less than the minimum required by state law for motor vehicles operated on public highways in the state.
