§ 133.041 PRESENTATION FOR SAFETY INSPECTION.
   Any person within the city who owns or comes into possession of a pistol as defined in § 133.040, shall present the weapon for safety inspection to the Chief of Police of the city. A certificate of inspection shall thereupon be issued in triplicate, containing the name, age, address, description and signature of the person presenting the pistol for inspection together with a full description thereof, the original of the certificate shall be delivered to the registrant, the duplicate thereof shall be mailed within 48 hours to the Commissioner of the State Police and the triplicate shall be retained and filed in the office of the Chief of Police. The provisions of this section shall not apply to wholesale or retail dealers in firearms or to collections of pistols kept solely for the purpose of display, as relics, curios or antiques, not made for modern ammunition or permanently deactivated.
