The applicant for a license under this subchapter shall file with the Board of Public Works and Safety a bond with sureties to be approved by the Board of Public Works in the sum of $5,000 for the purpose of indemnifying the city against damages on account of accidents during the construction of any sidewalks built by the person producing the license. The licensee shall repair and replace any defective sidewalk for a period of 5 years from the time of completion of any sidewalk constructed by the licensee after written notice, as provided in this subchapter. This bond shall not have less than 2 resident freehold sureties or an approved surety company, all of which shall be to the approval of the Board of Public Works and Safety.
