It shall be the duty of every owner, manager, operator, lessee or other person having control, custody, management or operation of any theater, moving picture house, auditorium, civic center, armory, school or other place of amusement in the city, which shall be provided or equipped with a metal fireproof curtain or a curtain of asbestos or other fireproof material covering or over the proscenium arch or opening, to raise and lower this curtain between each act or intermission or immediately before each performance.
