§ 70.04 MOTOR VEHICLES WITH FALSE OR ALTERED IDENTIFICATION NUMBER; IMPOUNDMENT.
   (A)   Possession of a motor vehicle with a false, altered, removed, obliterated, defaced or covered identification number which by law is required to be affixed, placed or stamped thereon or thereto shall be unlawful.
   (B)   Any motor vehicle, the possession of which is unlawful as provided in division (A) above, shall be impounded by the Police Department and held until the lawful ownership thereof is established and a new identification number, if needed, obtained by the owner thereof, as provided by law.
