§ 37.010 USE OF CITY-OWNED VEHICLES.
   (A)   No city-owned take home vehicle shall be assigned to any employee who lives outside the Hammond city limits.
   (B)   All city-owned take home vehicles shall have the required city decal placed on both sides of the vehicle per existing city ordinance, except the City Clerk and the City Judge.
   (C)   No city-owned take home vehicle shall be used for personal or political business.
   (D)   Any city employee with a take home vehicle shall adhere to all fees and expenses required by the State Board of Accounts and city rules and regulations.
   (E)   Any city employee who has a take home vehicle and a second job shall not use the vehicle for transportation to or from the second job or for use in the other employment, except if that second job is within the city limits.
   (F)   Any city-owned take home vehicle assigned to any city police officer shall be parked at the officer’s home in a conspicuous place to deter crime in the neighborhood.
   (G)   A quarterly report to be given to the Common Council on who has been given a take home car and for what reason (reports due January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1).
   (H)   Enforcement of this section is the responsibility of the Hammond Police Department and the Hammond Law Department.
