(A) All electrical construction and installations; all materials, devices, appliances and equipment installed or used in connection with electrical work; and the operation of all electrical apparatus within the city, relative to the construction, repair or maintenance of places of employment, public buildings, tenant homes and other buildings, including private residences and outbuildings in connection therewith, buildings used for agricultural purposes, and temporary buildings or additions used for construction purposes only, shall conform to the rules of the state’s Fire Marshal; the rules and regulations of the city, the Electrical Commission and the Electrical Inspection Department thereof; and the rules and regulations of the Administrative Building Council of Indiana, approved and promulgated for the construction, repair or maintenance of public buildings and tenant homes. Two copies of the rules and regulations of the Administrative Building Council of Indiana have been filed in the office of the City Clerk for public inspection, and are hereby adopted and approved and made a part of this chapter as fully as though every word, clause, phrase, sentence, section and part thereof were set out herein.
(B) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to radio, television, or telegraph apparatus; to the wiring, apparatus or equipment installed for or by public utilities, including common carriers, which are under the jurisdiction of the state’s Public Service Commission for use in their operations as public utilities; nor to manufacturers of electric apparatus in conducting tests of apparatus of their own manufacture.
