181.04 PAYMENT OF SICK LEAVE IN THE EVENT OF DEATH DUE TO DUTY RELATED CAUSES.
   In the event an employee is fatally injured as a direct result of his/her employment to the extent that the family or heirs at law are awarded a death benefit under the provisions of the Ohio Worker's Compensation law, a cash benefit based upon one hundred percent (100%) of the value of the deceased employee's accumulated sick leave shall be paid to the surviving spouse and if such deceased employee leaves no surviving spouse, then to the heirs at law of the deceased employee. For the purpose of this benefit the sick leave accumulation shall not exceed the total of 1,200 hours for those employees whose normal work schedule does not exceed forty hours per week, and 1,680 hours for those employees of the Fire Division whose average work schedule is based upon twenty-four hour tours of duty.
