349.01 DEFINITIONS.

   For the purpose of this Chapter the words and phrases defined in the sections hereunder shall have the meanings therein respectively ascribed to them, unless a different meaning is clearly indicated by the context.

   (a)    "Codified Ordinances" shall mean the Codified Ordinances of the City of Hamilton, Ohio.

   (b)    "Low speed vehicle" shall means a three- or four-wheeled motor vehicle with an attainable speed in one mile on a paved level surface of more than twenty (20) miles per hour but not more than twenty-five (25) miles per hour and with a gross vehicle weight rating less than three thousand (3,000) pounds.

   (c)    "Public Vehicle" shall mean a vehicle, other than a charitable non-profit transportation vehicle, by which individual service for compensation in the transportation of persons on the public streets is furnished or offered be furnished. Vehicles offering service in the transportation of persons on the public streets for hire, fee, or compensation of any kind, including compensation derived from tips or advertising, are public vehicles.

   (d)    "Low-speed for hire vehicle" is any low speed vehicle that is operated as a public vehicle.

   (e)    "Director of Engineering" shall mean the City of Hamilton Director of Engineering and/or his or her designee.

   (f)    "Director of Finance" shall mean the City of Hamilton Director of Finance and/or his or her designee.

   (g)    "Chief of Police" shall mean the City of Hamilton Chief of Police and/or his or her designee.

   (h)    "City Manager" shall mean the City of Hamilton City Manager and/or his or her designee. (Ord. 2022-9-73. Passed 9-14-22.)
