1907.01 PURPOSE.

   This Chapter is adopted to establish a program for providing notification and contact information to the City of Hamilton from Mortgages on Foreclosed Properties. The process will allow the City to identify properties that are leading to a decline in community and property value, and contributing to chronic nuisances and a general decrease in neighborhood and community aesthetic.

   Through this notification and registration program, Foreclosed Properties will be kept secure from trespassers, and help protect our neighborhoods against decay caused by foreclosed properties. It is in the best interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the City of Hamilton's citizens and residents to require notification of Foreclosed Property to discourage Foreclosed Property owners and mortgagees from allowing their properties to be abandoned, neglected or left unsupervised.
