1307.08 OWNER OCCUPANT EXEMPTION.
   (a)    Subject to the approval of the Building Official, the owner of a single-family dwelling unit or any immediate member of his or her family may perform the work listed under Section 1307.01(a) without obtaining a registration; provided that said individual is the occupant of the dwelling where work is to be done and that said individual obtains the required permits before starting the work and obtains the required inspection approvals.
   (b)    Supports to Equip Low-income Families (SELF) may apply for residential permits on behalf of low-income homeowners who reside at the location where work will be taking place. SELF will meet all other requirements in accordance with all federal, state and local policies, procedures, rules and regulations and obtain all required permits and inspection approvals.
