134.02 DUTIES OF THE DIRECTOR OF UTILITIES ENGINEERING.
   It shall be the duty of the Director of Engineering to serve as appointing authority in the Department of Engineering and such other administrative staff level departments and divisions as assigned by ordinance or by the Executive Director of Infrastructure. Within such assigned departments and divisions, the Director of Engineering shall further act as liaison to and for the Executive Director of Infrastructure on matters of Engineering pertaining to professional, administrative and supervisory work in the planning, organization, direction and coordination of the operations, maintenance, capital improvements and activities of the Engineering Department, and all such other duties as may be assigned pertaining to the Department of Engineering. From and after the effective date of this legislation, any reference to "Director of Utilities Engineering" in existing legislation, codified or uncodified, or any rules and regulations of the City of Hamilton or any other documents related to the functions and duties of said position shall be interpreted to mean the Director of Engineering provided the subject matter falls within the purview of the Director of Engineering or any Division under his/her direction.
