171.062 PURCHASES UNDER LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTAL CONTRACTS; OPI CORRECTIONAL INDUSTRIES; WAIVER OF ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS.

   The City, through its City Manager, is hereby authorized to participate in the purchase of articles, commodities, supplies, services, equipment and certain materials under local, state or federal governmental contracts and from OPI Correctional Industries or similar facilities, pursuant to authority granted by Article XVIII of the Ohio Constitution, Section 125.04 of the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 5147 of the Ohio Revised Code, federal law, and state or federal regulation. Purchases made under said contracts shall be exempt from the competitive bidding procedures otherwise required by law.

     The City Manager is hereby authorized to provide any documentation to the appropriate local, state or federal governmental entity or contractor to effectuate the City's participation in said contracts.

      The City shall be bound by the provisions of any applicable local, state or federal law or regulation governing its participation and by the terms and conditions of such contracts into which it enters thereunder.

      For the purposes of this section, "local governmental contract" shall include any contract of Butler County, Ohio, and all political subdivisions in Butler County, Ohio.
