911.05 USE OF POLES BY OTHERS.
It shall be a condition of every permit hereafter issued for any pole or post that to the extent of any capacity of such pole or post not in use or presently to be required for the use of the grantee of such permit, and upon being required to do so by the Director of Public Works, such grantee shall, for a reasonable compensation, allow the use of such pole or post by others who would otherwise require poles or posts at or about the same place. When there exists sufficient capacity on existing poles or posts to care for the needs of any applicant for a permit to erect other poles or posts, the Director of Public Works may in lieu of granting such permit require such other applicant to use poles or posts already erected. The purpose of this section is to conserve the space of streets and other public places by minimizing the number of poles or posts which shall be erected therein. (1931 Code §22.6325)
