905.03 EXISTING AND NEW NUMBERS.

   Numbers officially assigned to, or in use upon premises at the time this section becomes effective are hereby confirmed, subject to change or correction in the manner provided by this chapter. It shall be the duty of the Director of Public Works to assign the proper numbers to premises not numbered at such time, and to premises laid out upon plats thereafter. When areas are annexed to the City, and County numbers have been assigned thereto, such numbers shall continue to be used. No building permit shall be issued in respect of any premises not numbered as herein required. In case of disputes as to the use of any particular number or numbers, the Director of Public Works shall assign proper numbers to the premises affected, according to the principles prescribed in this chapter. The Director of Public Works shall have power, in case numbers in use on any premises do not conform to the principles prescribed in this chapter, to renumber such premises in accordance therewith.
