761.46 REGULATIONS AND PROHIBITIONS FOR TAXICAB DRIVERS.
No driver shall:
(a) Drive any taxicab while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or controlled substances, or drink any intoxicating liquor or consume controlled substances whatsoever while transporting passengers;
(b) Charge in excess of the rates fixed;
(c) Operate a taxicab unless he has an Ohio driver's license in full force and effect;
(d) Permit another driver to use his identification card;
(e) Have on his/her person or ready at hand in the taxicab passenger compartment any intoxicating liquors or concealed weapons;
(f) convey for another any intoxicating liquors;
(g) Knowingly solicit or accept passengers engaged in or about to engage in any immoral or unlawful activity;
(h) Deceive or attempt to deceive any passenger, prospective passenger or other person by any misrepresentation as to the number, ownership or other information regarding his/her taxicab;
(i) Coerce or attempt to coerce any person for the purpose of securing or attempting to secure the person as a passenger in such taxicabs;
(j) Use any fighting words or other language likely to provoke a breach of the peace;
(k) Be the cause of or engage in any quarreling, fighting or other unlawful acts;
(l) Accept passengers who have requested service from another taxicab operator;
(m) Take any route other than the most direct route to a passenger's destination unless otherwise authorized or directed by the passenger; or
(n) Carry in a taxicab more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle, exclusive of the driving seat, as stated in the license application for such vehicle.
Any taxicab driver issued a permit hereunder may have such permit suspended by the municipal judge at any time for any reason deemed necessary by the municipal judge for the health, welfare and safety of the public and the residents of the City.
The purpose of this section is to delineate a non-exhaustive list of criminal acts by taxicab drivers.
