761.28 LICENSE TRANSFER; FEE; SUBSTITUTING EQUIPMENT.

   Taxicab licenses may not be transferred from one certificate holder to another or to any person not already holding a certificate of public convenience and necessity, but upon application duly filed, a taxicab license may be transferred to other equipment owned by the same certificate holder upon payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and surrender of the prior license. Applications for transfer shall be referred to the Transportation and Traffic Division for investigation in the same manner as required in the case of an original application for a license, and such license may thereafter be transferred to cover the substituted equipment upon finding that the proposed substituted equipment is safe and that it complies with all requirements of the chapter and all ordinances of the City. A transferred license shall expire on the same date as the license it replaces.
