761.26 ISSUANCE OF LICENSE TO OPERATE.
   If the City Manager or his designate finds that the applicant for a license to operate a taxicab has been issued a certificate of public convenience and necessity; that the applicant has not met or exceeded the number of taxicabs it may operate according to the applicant's certificate of public convenience and necessity, and that the proposed taxicab meets or exceeds the standards promulgated by the Transportation and Traffic Division, the Director of Finance shall issue to the certificate holder a license to operate such taxicab upon showing proof of the insurance policy heretofore described and paying the license fee hereinafter set forth. There shall be delivered to such certificate holder a license which shall contain the vehicle identification and license number of the licensed taxicab, the name and address of the certificate holder and such other information as the Director prescribes. A copy of the license shall be affixed to the interior of the taxicab so licensed so as to be readily accessible and visible to anyone desiring to examine the same. Any license issued hereunder shall expire on December 31 of the year in which it was issued, unless sooner suspended or revoked for cause.
   Every certificate holder hereunder shall pay a fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per year for each taxicab licensed to operate up to a maximum of two hundred dollars ($200.00). The fee for issuing any such license after July 1 in any year shall be fifty percent (50%) of that specified above. (Ord. 96-2-21. Passed 2-28-96.)
