761.03 MILEAGE RATES.
   Unless at the beginning of a trip the passenger stipulates an hourly rate or a trip rate, no person shall charge any fare, fee or other compensation for the use of a taxicab determined or calculated otherwise than by a taximeter at rates not in excess of the following:
   (a)   For the first mile traveled in response to a call, no charge;
   (b)   For each half-mile additional traveled in response to a call, no charge;
   (c)   For the first one-eighth mile traveled with one passenger, a maximum of two dollars and ninety-nine cents ($2.99);
   (d)   For each additional one-eighth mile traveled, twenty-three cents (23¢);
   (e)   For each minute of waiting time between the time of arrival appointed by the passenger and the time of arrival at the destination of the passenger, during which time the taxicab is standing at the request, direction or fault of the passenger, twenty cents (20¢);
   (f)   For each passenger on any trip in addition to the first passenger, no charge;
   (g)   For any mileage outside the corporate limits of the City, twenty-five cents (25¢) per mile.
   The fees set forth in subsections (c) and (d) shall be adjusted annually, beginning in the year 2010, based upon changes in the local Consumer Price Index (CPI). Such adjustments shall become effective the first day of February of each year.
