717.01 ESTABLISHMENT.

   (a)    There are hereby established the following City Markets for the sale of meat, pork, poultry, vegetables, fruits, other foodstuffs, handmade goods, flowers and plants, in accordance with the regulations of the Director of Public Works or his/her designee. No fish shall be sold at any City Market:

      (1)    The first City Market (designated hereinafter as "Courthouse Market") shall be located on the west side of Second Street from High Street to Court Street, the north side of Court Street from Front Street to Second Street, the east side of Front Street from High Street to Court Street;

      (2)    The second City Market (designated hereinafter as "Market on the Plaza") shall be located on the Plaza of the Municipal Building located on the corner of High Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; and

      (3)    The third City Market (designated hereinafter as "RiversEdge Market") shall be located adjacent to the RiversEdge Amphitheater.

   (b)    Definitions. As used in this chapter "meat" means the flesh of animals used as food

including the dressed flesh of cattle, swine, sheep, or goats and other edible animals, except fish and poultry.

   (c)   As used in this chapter “designee” may mean a private not for profit agency, entity or organization. (Ord. 2014-3-25. Passed 3-12-14.)
