553.08 LIGHTING BENEATH RAILROADS WHICH ARE HIGHER THAN GRADE.

   It shall be the duty of every person maintaining or operating a railroad which crosses any thoroughfare above the grade of such thoroughfare to light the roadway, sidewalks or other passageways beneath the crossing structure, and to light all abutments of such structure within or at street lines, at all hours, for the safety and protection of persons using such thoroughfare.
