§ 96.30 PERMIT REQUIRED.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to make any excavation, cut or bore in, on, or under any street, alley, or other public easement within the city without first securing a permit from the city. To obtain such permit an application must be filed with the City Secretary describing the proposed street, alley or easement location where any excavation, cut, or bore is proposed. Such permit shall also be conditioned upon restoring the street, alley or other easement area in as good a condition as existed prior to the proposed work. The Building Official shall approve any street, alley or easement area where the work has occurred. Failure to restore the worksite area to good condition shall void the permit. No future permit will be approved for any person, firm or corporation that has not restored any work area to the city’s satisfaction.
