§ 95.30 HUNTING AND TRAPPING.
   No person shall discharge a firearm of any description within the limits of Zones A, B, C, D or E, except law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties. All persons shall strictly adhere to the current State Department of Natural Resources fishing regulations (ILCS, Chapter 520 - Wildlife Code) and any other regulations published by the city annually and the amendments thereto.
   (A)   Hunting. Hunting by means of firearm, bow and arrow, or any means whatsoever other than trapping as provided herein within Zones A, B, C, D or E is prohibited.
   (B)   Trapping. Trapping permits may be granted by the City Manager. The trapping permit fee shall be as set out in § 38.01 of this code of ordinances. Said permit shall allow trapping subject to all state regulations and permits, and subject to the following additional regulations.
      (1)   Dry land trap sets of any kind are expressly prohibited.
      (2)   Water set traps no larger than Number 2 leg traps and 110 conbair traps are permitted subject to:
         (a)   A four-foot tall (above ground) stake is affixed to the nearest land with a bright orange ribbon affixed to the top of the stake; and
         (b)   No such water set traps are located within 500 feet of any property containing a residence.
