A. Code Adoption: The approved editions of the following nationally recognized codes, as adopted by the state of Idaho or the Idaho building code board, are adopted as the official building codes of the city of Grangeville, except as provided in subsection B of this section:
1. International building code;
2. International residential code, parts I–IV and part IX;
3. International energy conservation code;
4. Uniform code for the abatement of dangerous buildings, 1997 edition; and
5. Uniform sign code, 1979 edition.
The adopted versions of the foregoing codes shall be deemed superseded by successive versions of such codes as they are adopted or approved by the Idaho building code board effective on any date such codes are made effective by the Idaho building code board.
B. Exemptions: Agricultural buildings are exempt from the building codes adopted herein, but shall remain subject to placement requirements established by Grangeville city zoning regulations. (Ord. 783, 6-6-2005)
C. Building Permit Fees:
1. Before issuing a building permit the owner, or his agent, shall pay the requisite fee to the city of Grangeville. The owner, or his agent, shall also pay any other fees charged to the city of Grangeville from other government entities for reviewing plans or permits. Fees charged are in addition to the building permit fee and are required to be paid at the time of the application. No permit shall be issued until all requisite fees are paid in full.
2. Upon failure to obtain a permit before work on a building has begun, except in emergency cases, the total fee shall be double the permit fees charged.
3. There shall be no refunds once a permit has been issued. (Ord. 874, 5-7-2012)
D. Copies On File: The city clerk shall be authorized pursuant to Idaho Code section 50-901 to maintain at least one copy of each of the codes adopted in this section in her office available to public inspection. (Ord. 783, 6-6-2005)
