2-38   City Clerk; Duties; Compensation
There is hereby created the office and position of city clerk. The city clerk shall be appointed by the mayor with approval of a majority of the city council. The city clerk shall have the custody of all laws, ordinances and official records, and keep a correct journal of the proceedings of the council, and perform all other duties and meet all requirements imposed by law upon the position or office of city clerk. The salary of the city clerk shall be fixed by ordinance.
