(a) On-duty EMT-A's and on-duty paramedics shall be compensated at one and one half times the authorized hourly rate for service during the following holidays. Such service hours shall commence at 6:00 a.m. on the day of the holiday and continue through 6:00 a.m. the day following the holiday:

President's Day | Thanksgiving Day |
Memorial Day | Christmas Day |
Independence Day | Easter Sunday |
(b) When appropriate, the Fire Chief is authorized to substitute another appropriate religious holiday if requested by a volunteer/employee whose religious practices may not celebrate the above holidays. Such authorization shall not permit an employee to receive time and a half compensation for more than ten (10) scheduled holidays per calendar year.
