The Mayor must be an elector of the Village, and must have resided in the Village for not less than five (5) consecutive years prior to the beginning of the term for said Mayor’s position. In the alternative, the Mayor must have resided in the Village for not less than two (2) consecutive years prior to the beginning of the term for said Mayor’s position and previously at any time during the corporate existence of this Municipality had at least two (2) years experience as one or more of the following officials of this Municipality. Councilperson, Mayor, Clerk- Treasurer, Clerk of Council, Director of Finance, Director of Law, or Planning Commission Member.
