SECTION V-1. Election and Term of Office.

The Mayor shall be elected by the popular vote of the electors of the Village. To be elected Mayor, a candidate must receive a majority or plurality of all the votes cast in the Municipality for election of a Mayor. Beginning with the election to be held for Mayor in November of 2009, the term of the Mayor shall be four years commencing on January 1, 2010.
