(a) There is hereby created the position of Electrical Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings, the position to be filled by appointment by the Mayor, with the consent of Council. The appointee shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor.
(b) It shall be the duty of the Electrical Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings, pursuant to the requirements and standards as established from time to time by appropriate ordinances, statutes, or regulations, to see to the enforcement of all provisions thereof relating to electricity and electrical equipment; and to make such inspections and perform such tests as may be necessary, and as frequently as may be necessary, in the enforcement thereof.
(c) The Electrical Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings shall have the power to order all work stopped on the construction, alteration, or repair of electrical matters or electrical equipment when such work is being done in violation of any provision of any ordinance, statute, or regulation relating thereto. Work shall not be resumed after the issuance of such a stop order except on written permission of the Electrical Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings, provided that if the stop order is an oral one, the practice shall be to follow it with a written stop order within a day's time delivered to the one against whom it is directed, or left upon the premises. Such written stop order may be served by any Village policeman.
(d) The compensation for the Electrical Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings shall be set forth in the resolution of appointment to such office.
