1301.07 INSPECTOR OF COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS.
   (a)   There is hereby created the position of Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings.
   (b)   The duties of the Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings shall be fulfilled by the Village Chief Building Official.
   (c)   It shall be the duty of the Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings, himself and by and through his own personnel and employees, and pursuant to the requirements and standards as established from time to time by appropriate ordinances, statutes, or regulations, to examine and approve or disapprove, and to require such alterations, additions and amendments thereto as required by ordinances, statutes or regulations, of all plans and specifications for proposed commercial and industrial buildings, structures, and uses in the Village and to see to the enforcement of all ordinances and statutes and regulatory provisions relating to such buildings, structures, and uses and zoning; and to inspect all such buildings, structures, and uses being erected, altered or repaired, as frequently as may be necessary to insure compliance with the appropriate ordinances, statutes or regulations; and to advise and consult with, upon request, the other personnel of the Department as hereinafter provided, and the other Village officials.
   (d)   The Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings shall have the power to order all work stopped on construction or alteration or repair of commercial and industrial buildings and structures in the Village, when such work is being done in violation of any provision of any ordinance, statute or regulations relating thereto, or in violation of the Zoning Ordinance. Work shall not be resumed after the issuance of such an order except on the written permission of the Inspector of Commercial and Industrial Buildings, provided that if the stop order is an oral one, the practice shall be to follow it with a written stop order within a day's time delivered to the one against whom it is directed, or left upon the premises. Such written stop order may be served by any Village policeman.
