(a) Subsequent to a determination that the construction, alteration or repair of any building is being done in violation of the Planning and Zoning Code, or any building, buildings or premises are being used or occupied in violation of the Planning and Zoning Code, or if the work being performed is causing any situation that threatens the health, safety or welfare of the surrounding property owners, their respective properties, or of the general public passing through or near the construction area, the Chief Building Official shall issue a stop work order and post it on the premises involved.
(b) Removal of a stop work order, except by the order of the Chief Building Official, shall constitute a punishable violation of this Planning and Zoning Code.
