(a) Such Planning Commission shall consist of the Mayor of the Village, one member of Council to be selected by Council for the remainder of their term as a member of Council, and three citizens of the Village who shall be appointed by the Mayor for terms of four (4) years, which term shall run concurrently with the Mayor's term. The Members of the Planning Commission shall be compensated at a rate fixed from time to time by the Council and authorized by ordinance.
(b) In addition to the above, the Mayor may appoint an alternate citizen member to the Planning Commission who shall have a term of four (4) years, also running concurrently with the Mayor's term. Such alternate citizen member shall not replace a regular member nor cast a vote, except in the absence of a regular member. The alternate member shall be compensated at the same rate established for a regular member for each meeting at which they serve in the regular member's position.
