The Village Engineer shall furnish services to the Village as required by the Mayor and/or the Council, including the following engineering services:
(a) Act as a technical consultant and advisor on engineering matters referred to him by the Mayor and/or the Council.
(b) Advise the Mayor relating to residents' problems pertaining to engineering as they may relate to public sewers, public water supplies, drainage patterns, and building grades.
(c) Assist the Mayor, Planning Commission, Service Department, and Building Department on engineering matters including attendance at Planning Commission meetings, as requested, and to act as an aide in the administration of the National Flood Insurance Program.
(d) Attend all meetings as requested by the Mayor or the Council.
(e) Prepare formative or preliminary sketches, layouts, estimates or reports, concerning the advisability of proceeding with public improvements such as wastewater collection and treatment, water mains, or other infrastructure improvements not pertaining to roads, culverts or roadway drainage contemplated by the Mayor and/or the Council.
(f) Perform such other duties as are normally required of Municipal Engineers not requiring the use of additional staff members such as Staff Engineers, Designers, Stormwater Coordinators, Survey Crews, etc.
(g) Advise the Mayor, Council, and Department Heads as required to establish and/or maintain the Village's compliance with the EPA/NDPES Phase II Stormwater Permitting Program. Staff members will be used for data gathering, monitoring and general maintenance of the Permit requirements.
