There is hereby created the office of Director of Economic Development. In January of each year, or as soon thereafter as is practicable, the Mayor shall appoint a Director of Economic Development who shall be confirmed by Council. The Director of Economic Development shall serve for one year or until his or her successor is chosen. The Director of Economic Development shall receive compensation as set by Council. The Director of Economic Development shall provide consultation on economic development issues as called upon by the Mayor.
