§ 51.35 LANDSCAPE METERS.
   (A)   The Water Department shall, at the request of any residential property owner and upon completion of the proper application process and payment by the property owner of the current associated fees, permit the tapping of the existing residential service line, prior to the existing water meter, for the installation of a landscape meter and irrigation service line per village specifications and at the owner’s cost for recording such water irrigation usage that does not directly enter the sanitary sewer system.
      (1)   In the event the landscape meter is installed using the existing line, a permit fee of $200 shall be required to install said meter to an irrigation service line off of the residential service line.
   (B)   If conditions exist that make tapping the residential service line unfeasible, the residential property owner may tap the water main for the purposes of installing an irrigation system and landscape meter and shall pay the appropriate tap fee for a new service line in accordance with § 51.08. A new water meter shall be installed per village specifications at the property owner’s cost.
   (C)   A backflow prevention device shall be installed at the expense of the property owner per § 51.34(A). Inspections are to be performed in accordance with state and local plumbing code.
   (D)   Water use measured by a landscape meter shall not be subject to sanitary sewerage user fees.
   (E)   Inspection of all work shall be performed by the Water Department designee, with applicable fees for said inspection to be paid by the property owner.
