(A) For the purpose of this section, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CHRISTMAS TREE. A natural, biodegradable tree customarily decorated with lights and ornaments during the Christmas season.
(B) The city’s Sanitation Department shall designate those days following December 25 of each year at which discarded Christmas trees will be picked up at curbside. No discarded Christmas trees shall be accepted for collection at curbside on any dates other than those specified by the Sanitation Department.
(C) Discarded Christmas trees shall be accepted for recycling at the Street Department Garage, located on West Front Street or at such other locations as may be designated by the Sanitation Department, at hours and dates designated by the Department.
(D) Discarded Christmas trees shall not be accepted for disposal at the landfill facility, except those which have been chipped.
