Before any appointment shall be made to the Police Department, each person applying for an appointment shall submit to a complete physical examination by a medical doctor to be selected and named by the Mayor. The medical doctor shall then file with Council his written report of the findings in making the physical examination. The cost of such physical examination shall be paid by the Village out of the General Fund. Council shall then review the doctor’s written medical report before determining whether any appointment shall be made.

Council does hereby establish fees within the Genoa Police Department to read as follows:
(a) Copy of an Incident Report:
$0.05 per copy for the first 20 pages
$0.10 per copy for 20-50 pages
$0.15 per copy for over 50 pages
(b) Record Checks 5.00
(c) Fingerprinting 10.00
(d) Photographs 10.00

The Police Department of the Village is granted jurisdiction for law enforcement in all lands owned and used by the Village outside the corporate limits.
The Police Department is ordered to enforce all State, County and township laws, regulations and ordinances and sanitary regulations of the Village in all lands owned and used by the Village outside the corporate limits in accordance with Ohio R.C. 715.50.

Council permits no fee to be charged for the first false alarm a retail business incurs within a calendar year and establishes a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) with each and every additional false alarm reported with a maximum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) within a given calendar year for any given retail business. No fee shall be charged for false alarms reported to the Genoa Police Department which are the result of acts of nature as long as the retail business has a stand-by Power source.

(a) The Chief of Police shall be solely responsible for creating the Department’s schedule. The Mayor shall be provided a copy and notified in writing of any changes to the schedule.
(b) The Chief of Police shall make every effort to schedule no more than one hundred eighty-four (184) weekly on-duty hours for the Department. Special necessary circumstances (e.g. training hours, event coverage, etc.) shall be exempt.
(c) The Chief of Police shall make every effort to reduce and/or eliminate overtime by moving shifts, scheduling part-time officers, and/or picking up the shifts personally.
