MEETINGS

§ 30.15 REGULAR MEETINGS.

   The City Council shall meet regularly on the first Monday of each month.

§ 30.16 MEETING PROCEDURE.

   The city’s meeting procedure policy, and any and all amendments, for all City Council meetings, as well as city committee meetings, are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if set out in full.

§ 30.17 DUTY TO ATTEND.

   (A)   It shall be the duty of every Alderman who is within the city at the time of any regular or special meeting of the City Council to attend such meeting and to remain in attendance until the meeting is regularly adjourned, unless excused by a majority vote of said Council.

   (B)   The Alderman present at any regular or special meeting of said City Council may, by a majority vote, compel the attendance of all absent Aldermen who are within the city at said time, and may require the Chief Police to arrest such absentees and bring them forthwith before such Council.

§ 30.18 SPECIAL MEETINGS.

   A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Garretson, South Dakota, may be called by the Acting Mayor or two City Council members and must be presented in writing to the Finance Officer. Notice must state the purpose of the meeting and include the date, time, and location of the proposed meeting. Notice to the public shall be served by the Finance Officer and any business at such special meeting shall have the same force and effect as if transacted at such regular meeting of the City Council.
